NORTHERN DROPS TWO AT SOUTHWEST STATE

April 13, 2001

Playing in Tracy, Minn., due to poor field conditions in Marshall, Northern State dropped a pair to the Mustangs Friday. The Wolves hung tough in the first game, losing 5-2. In the nightcap, SSU (11-7) poured it on with a 22-5 win.

NSU's record dropped to 3-17 with the loss. Like many games against quality opponents this season, the Wolves had their chances in the first game but came up short. Sophomore pitcher Derrick Dinger (Hecla) pitched the entire first game, scattering nine hits.
