STEAL TWO FROM NSU BASEBALL TEAM

Brookings,
SD - South Dakota State upended Northern State twice in non-conference
baseball action on Thursday afternoon. The Jackrabbits captured
9-6 and 13-5 vicotries on the day sending NSU's overall record to
6-16 on the season.

breif game summaries of the Wolves' doubleheader against South Dakota
State on Thursday:

South Dakota
State broke a 6-6 tie in the bottom of the sixth inning on back
to back doubles to score three runs and capture the 9-6 victory.
NSU's Joel Backous and Ben Cupp each recorded two-hit
games with Backous going 2-for-4 and Cupp ending the game 2-for-3
with a run scored. Deacon Burns homered for the fifth time
this season with a leadoff round trip in the first inning.

Northern State
gave up six runs in the first and six runs in the fourth as South
Dakota State completed the sweep over NSU with a 13-5 win in Brookings
on Thursday. Deacon Burns led the NSU offense going 3-for-3
on the game with an RBI and a run scored. Owen Olson was
2-for-3 in the game for the Wolves, as well. On the hill, Jay
Duehring pitched three innings of relief giving up two runs
and striking out five.
