BURNS HITS FOR THE CYCLE AS NSU ROUTS TRINITY, 13-0 & 15-1

Aberdeen, S.D. - NSU sophomore Deacon Burns stole the show in Monday's doubleheader with Trinity Bible College as the outfielder from Brownwood, Tex. hit for the cycle with a single, double, triple and home run in game two as NSU went on to rout the Lions 13-0 and 15-1.

NSU's Wes Fisbeck launches his second home run of the day in the Wolves' sweep over Trinity Bible College on Monday.

Northern State cranked out four home runs including three in a row in the first inning as NSU went on to blank Trinity 13-0 in game one of two on Monday. The Wolves jumped out to the 4-0 lead and tacked on two in the second, four in the fourth and three in the fifth to take care of the Lions in six innings. NSU pitcher Joe Fuller allowed just four hits in his first shutout of the season while Joel Backous led the Wolves at the plate going 3-for-4 with a double and a home run.

NSU's Deacon Burns hit for the cycle and Michael Fosdick threw a three hitter as NSU finished the sweep over TBC 15-1 in game two. Burns was 4-for-4 on the day with four runs scored and five RBIs while Jay Duehring and Joel Backous both had two hits. Fosdick earned his second win of the year allowing one earned run and striking out nine.
