- Valley City State roughed up Northern State pitchers for 36 runs
on 36 hits and swept the home team 14-8 and 22-1 on Thursday at
Fossum Field. NSU managed just 11 hits on the day as a team.

VCSU put up
five runs in the third followed by three each in the sixth and seventh
to down the Wolves in game one 14-8. NSU pitcher Owen Olson was
tagged for seven earned runs on 11 hits in 5.0 innings on the day.
NSU's Wesley Fisbeck was 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBIs
and his seventh home run of the season. Ben Cupp also hit
one out of the park for the Wolves as well. Senior Steve Rixen
came in with a two-hit game with two RBIs also.

Valley City
State scored at lead three runs in all five innings including a
seven-run third as the Vikings earned the sweep with a big 22-1
victory over NSU on Thursday. NSU compiled just four hits on the
day including a 1-for-2 performance from Owen Olson. Olson
also posted an RBI knocking in Ben Cupp in the second inning
for the Wolves' lone run.

Northern State
travels to Crookston, Minn. on Friday to face the University of
Minnesota, Crookston in a 1:30 p.m. doubleheader. NSU will return
to Aberdeen on Satruday to face UMC in a home NSIC twinbill at 1:30.
