Wolves Football Signs Ten For 2007-08

ABERDEEN, S.D. - Northern State football head coach Chris Boden has announced the signing of ten athletes to National Letters of Intent for the 2007-08 school year. Among the signees are three local athletes due to graduate from Aberdeen Roncalli High School this May.
"I'm excited about the first wave of recruits that we have signed here at NSU," says Boden. "Our goal in recruiting is to get the best kids in this region by the signing date, and I feel very good about our signees. Our coaching staff will now determine what other needs we still have and will go to other places throughout the nation to fill those spaces," explains Boden. "As a whole, this group of recruits will help fill several needs that we have and will improve our overall depth and speed."
Logan Anderson is a defensive lineman from Aberdeen, SD. He is a two-time All-State lineman and a Most Valuable Player of the 2006 South Dakota State football championship game. An honor athlete, Anderson earned three football letters at Aberdeen Roncalli High School while also being a standout wrestler for RHS. He is a four-time wrestling letterwinner who has gone 88-12 in his career, finishing third in the State tournament last season. He is a Junior Olympic All-American.
Tony Falk is a four-time football letterwinner at Murray County Central High School. From Slayton, Minn., Falk has been named All-State Honorable Mention, Little Sioux Conference Offensive Back of the Year, and the Marshall Independent Player of the Year. In his senior year, Falk accumulated 1,920 rushing yards and drove in 24 touchdowns.
Coming in as a defensive end from Sully Buttes High School is Maxwell Foth. With four years of varsity experience, Foth is a two-time All-Conference player who has also been named All-State. He has played varsity basketball for five years, bringing his team to three SD State Tournament appearances as a leading rebounder. he was named All-Conference twice and made the All-Tournament Team last season.
Austin Lund is a linebacker from Arlington, South Dakota and member of the two-time SD State Championship team, Arlington High School. He has four football letters and also participates in golf, track, and wrestling. He has been named to the Brookings All-Area Football Team and the Sioux Falls Argus Leader Elite 45 team, and has two Dakota Valley All-Conference awards to his name. He was named DAC Most Valuable Player. Lund has made the honor roll every semester of his high school career.
Michael Fischer comes to Northern State from Gettysburg High School in Gettysburg, SD. He has four football letters and has been named All-State and All-Conference twice. A linebacker, Fischer was named to the Sioux Falls Argus Leader Elite 45 team his senior year and played in the All-Star football game. He is also an accomplished wrestler and track participant.
Wide receiver Trent DesLauriers has four football letters at Clark High School in Clark, SD. He has been named All-Conference, All-State, and Offensive MVP of the ECC conference. He was also a member of the Sioux Falls Argus Leader Elite 45 and was named Best Offensive Player by his team after marking 1,215 yards in 53 catches his senior year, tallying 14 touchdowns on the season. DesLauriers also competes in basketball, track, and golf at CHS and has received the High School Heisman Award.
Tony Bock is a linebacker from Aberdeen Roncalli High School. A Gatorade Player of the Year, Bock was named All-Conference all three years he played on varsity, garnering All-State honors his senior year. He played both sides of the ball, rushing 1,550 yards for eight touchdowns and making nine catches, including a touchdown, for 122 yards in 2006. On the defensive side, Bock tallied 139 tackles and two interceptions. Bock also participates in track.
Wide receiver Adam Halseth is a three-time football letterwinner at Lincoln High School in Sioux Falls, SD. He is a two-time Greater Dakota All-Conference honoree who was also named Elite 45 Honorable Mention. Halseth totaled 15 touchdowns and 1,639 yards in 99 catches in his career.
Michael Zerr is a center from Aberdeen Roncalli High School. In three years of varsity experience, Zerr totaled 71 tackles and blocked for two straight 2,000 yard team rushing seasons. He has accumulated a variety of career honors, including 2005 and 2006 All-State, All-Conference, Academic All-State, and Aberdeen American News All-Area. Zerr is also a five-time tennis letterwinner, taking fourth place in flight 2 singles in 2006.
Carl Lipanovich is a offensive lineman at Vintage High School in Napa, Calif. He has two football letters and was named Defensive Player of the Year. Lipanovich also participates in baseball and wrestling.
