Wolves Sign 10 Additional Athletes

ABERDEEN, S.D. - Northern State head football coach Chris Boden has announced the signing of ten additional football players for the 2007 season.
Derek John Franco is a running back and wide receiver. Originally from from Kansasville, Wisconsin, Franco graduated from Burlington High School in 2006. He was a three-time letterwinner in both football and track at BHS. Franco was named to the All-Conference First Teams for both football and track. He was a member of the honor roll.
Zain Gower comes to Northern from Warrensburg, Missouri, where he will graduate from Warrensburg High School this year. Gower is a distinguished running back with three years of varsity experience. He was named All-Conference three times, First Team All-District twice, All-State twice, and was twice named to the KMZU Dream Team. Gower was also a track athlete, where he was named All-State twice and All-State and All-District three times each. In his senior season, Gower had 1,250 yards in 180 carries and scored 14 touchdowns. He is a member of the National Honor Society and the National Society of High School Scholars.
Kyle Fulford transfers to Northern State from Santa Rosa Junior College. He is a 2004 graduate of Vintage High School in Napa, Calif. A defensive end and linebacker, Fulford was named an All-League tight end and Honorable Mention defensive end. He also participated in baseball, where he was name All-County for his pitching efforts.
Wide receiver John Michael Migdal is a 2007 graduate of Marin Catholic High School and is from San Rafael, CA. He is a two-time football letterwinner who served as team captain and was named team MVP and First Team All-League. At wide receiver, Migdal averaged 30 yards per catch and notched eight touchdowns. He also played quarterback, totalling 1,900 yards and 17 touchdowns and came up with four interceptions as a free safety. Migdal also played baseball and track for one year.
Arabin Lightfoot is a defensive end from Mosinee High School in Mosinee, Wisc. He has earned three football letters at MHS and was named First Team All-Conference. In his senior season, Lightfoot recorded 33 solo tackles and 36 assists and had eight sacks for a loss of 61 yards. He returned two interceptions for touchdowns and had a blocked field goal. Lightfoot also ran track for a season, helping guide his team to a conference championship as part of the 4x400 meter relay.
Linebacker Mike Preciado is a transfer from San Bernardino Valley College in San Bernardino, Calif. He is a 2005 graduate of Redlands East Valley High School, where he helped guide his team to a 2004 championship title. Preciado is a two-time All-Conference athlete and was named All-CIF Southern Section in 2004. He was named defensive MVP by his team in 2006.
Michael Tadisch is a native of Wausauke High School in Wausauke, Wisc. Tadisch made First Team All-Conference as a defensive end and Second Team All-Conference on the offensive line. He also participated in basketball, where he was named Honorable Mention.
Linebacker Jon Peckham is a transfer athlete from Ventura Community College. Peckham graduated from Ventura High School in 2005 after earning four football letters. As a linebacker, he was named League Defensive MVP, Ventura County Defensive MVP, Div IV Defensive MVP, and First Team CIF Southern Section. At junior college, Peckham made the All-Conference roster, served as team captain, and was named team defensive player of the year. He is a United States National Scholar Athlete.
Karsten Rohlfs is a 2007 graduate of Aberdeen Roncalli High School where he played multiple positions on both sides of the ball. He will look to play as a wide receiver for the Wolves. Rohlfs was named All-Conference, All-Conference Honorable Mention, and All-State while playing at RHS.
Keith Mayer comes to Northern from Aberdeen Central High School, where he will graduate in 2007. Mayer is an offensive guard who was named Academic All-State and who placed second at the State tournament as a heavyweight wrestler.
