St. Paul , Minn. – John Russell, a 6-4, 215-pound junior from Hayward, Calif., completed 25 of 35 passes for 225 yards and two touchdowns in a 29-16 victory at Wayne State. Russell is the fourth Wolf this season to be named NSIC Player of the Week and the first offensive player since week one when Johnny Bentley received it for his performance against Mayville State. Last week Chris McClellan was named NSIC Co-Specials Teams Player of the Week, while Veaila Tupou was named defensive player of the week after the Neb. Kearney game.

With the win the Wolves are 3-0 in the NSIC and tied with Winona State for the league's lead. The two teams meet up this Saturday, October 15th at 1:00 p.m. at Clark Swisher Field in Aberdeen, S.D. In the latest D2Football.com regional poll, Winona State came in at the 11th spot.
