Northern State built a commanding 48-23 halftime lead and coasted to an 86-70 win Saturday night at the Barnett Center.
The Wolves (6-9, 3-4 NSIC) were led by a balanced offensive attack that was running on all cylinders in the first half. NSU shot 55 percent in the first stanza, including 10 3-pointers and a few thunderous dunks. Five players ended in double digits, including two with double-doubles.
True freshman wing Sundance Wicks (Gillette, Wyo.) led all scorers with a career-high 17 points to go with a career-high 10 rebounds and a career-best seven assists. Sophomore post Brad Hansen (Tea) led the team in rebounding with a career-high 13 boards, including a staggering 10 offensive caroms to go with 12 points. Redshirt freshman guard Nick Schroeder (Osseo, Minn.) added 16 points (including five 3-pointers). Morris (3-12, 1-6 NSIC) was led by Scott Hemberger's 15 points. NSU outrebounded UMM 56-30.
