WOLVES MANHANDLE MOUNT SENARIO

Nov. 20, 2001

Paint Patrol -- Senior center Brad Hansen discards a Mount Senario player while positioning for a rebound Tuesday night.

Northern State built a 52-16 halftime lead and coasted to an 85-50 win over Mount Senario College (Ladysmith, Wis.) Tuesday night in the Barnett Center.

The Wolves (2-0) out-rebounded the Fighting Saints 48-25 and forced 32 turnovers on the night.

Senior posts Brad Hansen (Tea) and Andy Foster (Caledonia, Minn.) dominated the paint and had what amounted to lay-up drills all night with NSU's offense creating easy looks. Hansen ended with 22 points and seven rebounds, while Foster added 19 points and eight boards. Junior forward Sundance Wicks (Gillette, Wyo.) rounded out NSU's double-digit scorers with 10 points to go with six assists and five boards. All 11 NSU players to enter the game broke into the scoring column. Junior shooting guard and top returning perimeter threat Nick Schroeder (Plymouth, Minn.), who has been fighting foot injuries, worked his way back onto the court, playing seven minutes. Senior point guard Roland Williams (Fort Worth, Texas), still fighting back problems, did not suit up.

Mount Senario (0-6) was led by Keith Allard's 19 points.

Northern continues its three-game homestand Wednesday night with a game against Dakota State. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
