GOVERNOR SHOOTING DOWNS WOLVES IN EXHIBITION TILT

Tenn. - The
Northern State men's hoopsters completed their season-opening
Tennessee swing with an 87-74 exhibition loss to Austing Peay
State on Saturday evening in Clarksville, Tenn.
The
Wolves were down by as many as 15 in the first half but fought
back with a 6-0 run to close the period down nine.
NSU
spotted the Governors a lead as large as 20 with 8:41 remaining
in the second half but, once again, showed gritty determination
to fight back within 13 at the final buzzer.
The
Wolves gained a slim 39-36 advantage on the NCAA I Govs' with
Aaron Busack pulling down a team high five for the Wolves.
Jarod
Obering connected on 4-of-6 from long range while hitting 5-of-9
from the floor en route to a team high 16. Sophomores Adam Grant
and Busack checked in with 15 and 14 to round out Wolves in double-figures.
The
Wolves shot 42.1 percent from the floor while hitting at a 47.6
percent clip from three-point range. Austin Peay ripped off a
steady 50.9 percent clip on the day shooting better than 57 percent
in the second half.
Northern
State will open up its regular season schedule on Saturday in
Wachs Arena when they host North Dakota State in an early showdown
of top regional teams.
