Wolves Clock Peacocks 73-57 in Fayette

Fayette, Iowa - Northern State (17-2, 6-1 NSIC) clocked Upper Iowa (2-21) 73-57 in non-conference action. The Wolves improve to 2-0 all-time versus the Peacocks and 1-0 in Fayette. With the win Don Meyer moves into sole possession of 5 th place on the all-time wins list with 831 wins.

The Wolves opened up a close game as they went on a 14-3 run to take a 33-22 lead with 3:20 left in the first half. The Wolves added a 8-0 run midway through the second half to take a 65-47 lead with eight minutes left in the game.

Neither team scored a field goal the last 4:42 of the game.

The Wolves had four players in double figures led by MattHammer (Sr., F, Elkton, S.D.) with 19 points. Hammer added seven assists and six rebounds in 31 minutes. Craig Nelson (R-So., G, Mayville, N.D.) and Adam Grant (Sr., F, Berthold, N.D.) both added 11 points while Bjoern Schoo (Sr., C, Germany) had ten points in 15 minutes of play.

The Wolves return to NSIC action against MSU Moorhead this Saturday, Feb, 4 th at 8:00 p.m. in Moorhead, Minn.
