Wolves Split on Day 2 of NSIC Crossover

WAYNE, Neb. - The Wolves scored all the runs they would need in the first inning of their game against Bemidji State on day two of the NSIC Crossover. The Wolves defeat Bemidji State 2-1 to pick up their first NSIC win of the season.

The Wolves used three hits and took advantage of two Beaver errors to plate a pair of runs in the bottom of the first inning.

Christie Schulte (2-5) pitched all seven innings for the Wolves giving up only one run on seven hits to get the win. Schulte struck out seven on the day and walked four of the 32 batters faced.

Game 1 Stats

The Wolves offense picked up when they faced Minnesota-Duluth, but it wasn't enough as they fell 7-4 to the Bulldogs.

Both teams had 11 hits in the game, but the Wolves left eight runs stranded (including the bases loaded in the second) compared to the Bulldogs five.

The Wolves looked to rally in the bottom of the seventh inning as they scored two runs and had a pair of runners on base with only one out, but the rally fell short as a batter struck out looking and a pop fly ended the game.

The Wolves are now 2-16 overall and 1-5 in the NSIC.

The Wolves host South Dakota State for a doubleheader on April 7th at 2:00 p.m.
