Wolves have a Rough Day in Mashall, Minn.

Marshall, Minn.- The Wolves had a rough day in Marshall, Minn. as they lost a heartbreaker to Wayne State 2-3 in ten innings and then lost 0-8 against the Winona State Warriors.

In game one the Wolves got fell behind 0-1 in the bottom of the sixth, but the Wolves would rally scoring a run of their own to make the score 1-1 and push the game to extra innings. Neither team scored until the tenth inning. The Wolves scored one in the top of the tenth but were unable to hold on to the win as the Wildcats scored two in the bottom of the tenth to get the win.

For the Wolves Lisa Koehler (Sr., P., Waconia, Minn.) would get the loss and fall to 6-7 on the year. She went 9 1/3 innings striking out eight and only walking three.

The Wolves were out hit in the game eleven to four and struck-out twelve times to the Wildcats eight.

In the second game the Wolves again could not get much going offensively as the Warriors of Winona State shut out them out 0-8.

Christi Schulte and Audrey Decker would both pitch in the game. Schulte pitched three innings giving up six hits, five runs, and only striking out one. Decker worked two innings giving up six hits and three runs. With the loss Schulte fell to 2-5 on the season.

With the two losses the Wolves fall to 11-17, 2-2 NSIC.

The Wolves will be in action again on Sunday April 9 th in Marshall, Minn. to take on the Mustangs from Southwest Minnesota State and the Golden Bears of Concordia St. Paul. The games are set for 12:00 pm and 4:00 pm.
