Wolves Lose to Warriors 8-0 in First Round
Crookston, Minn. - The seventh seeded Northern State Wolves fell to the second seeded Winona State Warriors 8-0 in five innings in the first round of the NSIC Tournament.
The Warriors used two big innings to defeat the Wolves. The Warriors got four runs in the third inning and four in the fifth to put the eight run rule in effect.
The Wolves only manged three hits against the Warriors. The Wolves got a double from Jenna Drey and a triple from Zomarie Lozano.
Lisa Koehler pitched for the Wolves going 4 1/3 innings giving up four hits and two earned runs, while striking out three. Koehler fell to 9-14 with the loss.
The Warriors were led by Rosenow who went 2 for 3 at the plate with two runs scored and three runs batted in. Wisniewski earned the win which improved her recored to 6-3.
The Wolves will be playing the Bemidji State Beavers at 2:00 pm in the second round of the NSIC tournament, while the Warriors will face the Concordia St. Paul Golden Bears.-- Full Tournament Bracket
