In junior forward Melissa Lehr's case, when it rains, it pours.
After scoring two goals at Moorhead State Saturday to break out of what was a minor and unlucky scoring slump, the Aberdeen native exploded again Sunday with a hat trick in NSU's 6-0 win at Minnesota-Crookston. All told, the hard-working Lehr has more than broken out of any slump. In the past week, she's scored as many goals (six) as she did in all of last season. She was three-for-five on the day.
Also scoring Sunday were sophomore forward Becky Valdez (Cheyenne, Wyo.), freshman midfielder Holly Leichtnam (Sheridan, Wyo.) and sophomore sweeper Kristie Gordy (Cheyenne, Wyo.).
In net, freshman keeper Sarah Weber (St. Cloud, Minn.) notched her third shutout of the season.
