WOLVES SPLIT IN CROSSOVER TOURNAMENT

Northern State dropped its first match of the season 3-0 to Huron University, but bounced back a day later with a 2-1 victory over South Dakota State during the NSU Crossover Tournament August 25-27 in Aberdeen.

St. Cloud State, Minnesota State-Moorhead, Minnesota-Morris, Huron, SDSU, NSU each took part in the three-day tournament, playing two matches apiece.

Against the Screaming Eagles Saturday, the Wolves were done in by a hat trick, courtesy Huron gunner Candy Klingensmith.

Freshman midfielder Ellen Anderson (Rapid City) scored NSU's first goal and assisted sophomore midfielder Kersten Coulter (Sioux Falls) on the game-winner. Coulter's match-winning blast came from 18 feet.

Sophomore keeper Sarah Weber (St. Cloud, Minn.) got the win in net for NSU.
