WILDCAT GOAL ENDS WOLVES SEASON
Aberdeen,
S.D. - A goal by Wayne State's Tanya Mitchell with :28 left
in regulation ended the Northern State soccer team's season
on Tuesday afternoon in the first round of the NSIC Tournament.
NSU
controlled most of the ball game letting the Wildcats take
just two shots in the first period, but WSC came back in
the second with a seven-shot barrage including the game-winner
with seconds left to play.
NSU
held the shot advantage on the day striking 14 compared
to Wayne State's nine.
The
Wildcats will advance to the semi-final round of the tournament
in St. Paul, Minn. against the winner of Minnesota-Duluth
and Concordia-St. Paul on Friday while NSU ends its season
with a 10-6-3 overall record.
