Wolves Come out Strong to Defeat Dragons
Aberdeen, S.D.- The Northern State Wolves (9-4, 4-2 NSIC) used a 15 to 3 shot advantage to get the win against the MSU Moorhead Dragons (3-7-1, 1-2-1 NSIC).. Northern State used stellar defense to help them to the 2-0 win in Aberdeen, S.D.
The Wolves got on the board at the 21:07 mark when Stephanie Connolly (So., MF., Red Deer, Alberta) fired in her first goal of the season. She got an assist from Elizabeth Malatesta (Sr., MF., Cheyenne, WY). In the second half the Wolves put the game away when Larissa Strychun (Jr., F., Calgary, Alberta) and Jessi Hambrick (Jr., F., Thornton, CO) hooked up at the 57:37 mark in the game. The goal marked the fourth for Strychun on the year.
The Wolves goal keeper Catherine Grace (So., GK., Littleton, CO) got her fourth win in as many chances. With the shut out she now has three on the year.
The Wolves will be in action again on October 7th when they travel to Bemidji, MN to take on the Beavers of Bemidji State. Game time is set for 1:00 pm.
