Connolly Honored For Week's Play

ST. PAUL, Minn. - Northern State junior Stephanie Connolly (MF, 5-7, Red Deer, Alberta) has been named NSIC Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, as announced today by the NSIC office. Connolly led the Wolves with three goals in two wins last week. NSU is 7-3-1 overall and will play at Upper Iowa and Winona State as they open NSIC play this weekend.
Connolly scored two goals against Bemidji State on Sunday, one to give the Wolves the lead back in the second period and one to close out the 3-2 win in overtime. Connolly also got NSU’s scoring going against Minnesota, Crookston on Saturday, scoring the first of the team’s seven goals in the game. All four of Connolly’s shots on the week went on goal and three of the four were put past keepers. Connolly has five goals on the season and eight in her career.

Northern State University (located in Aberdeen, SD) is an NCAA Division II institution and a member of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC).
