Streak Ends as NSU Veterans Get Hot

Junior Carin Rambow scored a career high 25 points in Northern's 82-75 win at MSU Moorhead on Friday.

Moorhead, Minn. -- The NSU women's basketball team snapped a seven-game losing streak on Friday night as the Wolves knocked off Minnesota State Moorhead 82-75 in NSIC basketball action.

Northern used a 25-point performance from junior Carin Rambow and a 16-point, seven rebound effort by senior Tia Michalski to knock off the Dragons.

NSU jumped out to a quick 12-4 lead but MSUM made a 13-0 run to go up 17-12 halfway through the first. Northern was able to make its way back in it and take a 45-41 lead at halftime.

NSU saw its lead cut down as low as one point with 7:45 to go but they would not allow Moorhead to recapture the lead as they held on to the 82-75 win.

--Carin Rambow led all scorers with her career high 25 points. She was 7-of-15 from the field and 4-of-10 from behind the arch.

--Tia Michalski tied her career high with 16 points.

--Liza Sizer also hit double figures for the Wolves with 12 points. She also added five assists on the night.

--NSU shot 49.1 percent from the floor while holding MSUM to just 36.9 percent.
