Crookston,
Minn. --The Northern State women's basketball team captured
back-to-back victories for the first time this season with
a 78-74 win over Minnesota-Crookston on Saturday afternoon.
The win comes after Friday night's victory over MSU Moorhead
that ended the Wolves' seven-game losing streak.
Northern
State saw a lead as large as six in the first half but trailed
41-38 at the halftime break.
The
Wolves came back in the second and reclaimed the lead with
14:54 remaining and never trailed for the rest of the contest.
--Carin
Rambow led the Wolves for the second straight night. The junior
posted 22 points going 6-of-13 from the field and 7-of-7 from
the free throw line.
--Brooke
Fandrich hit for a career high 20 points making 9-of-13 field
goals on the afternoon.
--Jessi
Mostad threw in ten points for the Wolves. She also led the
team with four assists.
--Amanda
Mollman paced NSU on the glass, collecting seven rebounds
in the game.
--UMC's
Cathy Behr posted a game-high 23 points.
--NSU
won the rebounding battle 35 to 31.
--Northern
shot a season high 51.7 percent from the field on the night
while UMC hit at a 41.5 percent clip.
--Northern
State (4-10, 2-4 NSIC) hosts Minnesota-Duluth on Jan. 17.
