PESKY WOLVES SCARE LEAGUE-LEADING BULLDOGS ON THE ROAD

Duluth, Minn. --The Northern State women recorded a solid performance but fell 85-79 on Saturday night against the University of Minnesota-Duluth.

The Wolves were down by as many as ten in the first half of play but rallied to tie the score at 30-30 with under a minute to play in the period. The Bulldogs finished the half with five unanswered, however, and took a 35-30 lead into the locker room.

NSU kept the game close and even knotted the score at 57 with 7:27 to play before UMD made a crucial 6-0 run to reclaim a lead that they would never let go of.

Liza Sizer paced NSU with 12 points on 6-of-10 from the floor. Jessi Mostad continued her solid play this season with 11 points and eight rebounds in the game.

UMD's Kim Toewe led the Bulldogs with 16 points while Tasha Martin followed with 14. Lindsey Dietz led UM-Duluth on the glass with eight rebounds.

Both teams shot well on the night whith UMD hitting 49 percent from the floor and the Wolves hitting 48.3 percent.

NSU (10-16, 7-10 NSIC) will play its final regular season game on Friday at Minnesota-Morris.
