WOLVES BLOW BY CHADRON STATE, 91-68

ABERDEEN, S.D. - Northern State used a 10-0 run midway through the first half to pull away from Chadron State en route to a 91-68 blowout over the Eagles on Monday night in Aberdeen.

The Wolves led 16-13 with 12:55 left in the opening period before scoring ten unanswered points, five of which were from freshman Carolin Becker, going up 26-13 and never looking back in the 23-point victory.

NSU took a 45-26 lead into the halftime break and extended its lead to as many as 34 in the second half before the Eagles came within 23 at the final gun.

Michelle Hanson led all scorers in the game with 17 points going 7-for-10 from the floor while Carin Rambow chipped in 14 on 4-of-5 from three-point range. Carolin Becker added 13 and Liza Sizer threw in 11 to round out the four Wolves in double-figures.

Amanda Mollman and Jessi Mostad each brought down nine rebounds and Sara Jensen contributed a career high seven assists while Amber Powell had a team high four steals on the night for NSU.

The Wolves shot at a 46.8 percent clip on the night including 35.3 percent from three-point range while holding CSC to a 40 percent night from the floor. NSU also owned the glass ripping down 51 rebounds to Chadron State's 31.

NSU (5-1) faces No. 1-ranked South Dakota State on Saturday night in Brookings. Tipoff for the non-conference game is 6 p.m.
