MOORHEAD, Minn. – The MSU Moorhead Dragons remain undefeated in the NSIC as they hand Northern State a 72-63 defeat at Alex Nemzek Hall. The Dragons are now 16-3 overall and 7-0 in the NSIC while the Wolves are 12-7 overall and 4-3 in the NSIC.
The Dragons opened used a couple of double-digit runs in both the first and second half of the game. The Dragons opened up a 36-32 halftime lead with help from 14-3 run midway through the first half. The Wolves tied the game up at 47 five minutes into the second half before the Dragons went on a 9-0 run. The Dragons extended the lead to 17 with three minutes to go before the Wolves hit some shots at the end of the game to bring the final score to 72-63.
The Wolves were led by Liza Sizer (Sr., G, Miller, S.D.) who had 16 points with the help of four three-pointers. Carolin Becker (So., F, Beulah, S.D.) was the other Wolf in double figures with 11 points and seven rebounds. Jackie Doerr led the Dragons as she hit 7 of 16 shots for 19 points and Lindsay Hartmann added 15 points and 12 rebounds.
