Wolves Run Past Coyotes 80-60

Aberdeen, SD- Northern State University (4-0, 0-0 NSIC) ended a four game losing streak to the University of South Dakota (2-1, 0-0 NCC) Tuesday night beating them 80-60 in a battle of in state rivals. Ali Chmielewski (Sr., F., Foley, Minn) recorded her first career double-double by pouring in 16 points and grabbing 10 rebounds.

With the win the Wolves collected their 700 th win in the history of the program which dates back to 1969-70. Of the 700 wins coach Fredrickson owns 591 of them.

The Coyotes closed out the first half on an 11-3 run after trailing the Wolves 33-23 with 4:28 left in the first half. The Wolves would outscore the Coyotes 44-26 in the second half going on to win 80-60 and remain unbeaten on the season.

The Wolves out shot the Coyotes shooting 52.6% (30/57) compared to 29.2% (19/65). The Wolves also out rebounded the Coyotes in decisive fashion 47-30.

Noelle Hall (So., C., Altura, Minn.) led all scorers with her 21 points going 9-13 on the night. Ali Chmielewski on top of her double-double had a career high in rebounds with 10 and in minutes played with 33. Celia Westphal (Jr., F., Worthington, Minn.) also had a career night as she went 5-5 from the field scoring 11 points. Sara Jensen (Sr., G., South Shore, SD.) also had a career high in minutes played with 38 guiding the Wolves to the victory. Kristie Chmielewski (Sr., G., Foley, Minn.) played well recording a career high in points with 11.

Leading scores for the Coyotes were Ashley Bjorkman with 15 and Ashley Robinette with 13.

The Wolves will travel to Omaha, NE for the Nebraska-Omaha Classic this weekend where they will face Grand View on Friday November 25 at 2:00 pm and play Iowa Wesleyan on Saturday November 26 at 2:00 pm.
