Celia Westphal Scores a Career High 16 Points in Win Over Bemidji State
Aberdeen, S.D. – Northern State (11-3, 3-1 NSIC) extended their winning streak to 17 games over Bemidji State (7-9, 1-3 NSIC) as they beat the Beavers 87-59 at Barnett Center. Northern State head coach Curt Fredrickson picks up career win 598 as the Wolves improve to 36-6 all-time against the Beavers.
Noelle Hall (So., C, Altura, Minn) let the way for the Wolves as she had a game high 20 points and 11 rebounds. This marks her second double double this season and fourth in her career.
The Wolves got help from their bench as Celia Westphal (Jr., F, Worthington, Minn.) and Jaclyn Arns (So., G, St. Michael, Minn.) both posted career highs. Westphal had 16 points on 7 of 8 shooting while Arns was 4 of 6 shooting for 11 points.
The Wolves jumped out to an early 6-0 lead before the Beavers knotted the game at 12. From there the Wolves went on a 13-2 run as they extended their lead to 41-27 at the half.
The Wolves opened up the second half on a 12-1 run to open up their lead to 25 with fifteen minutes to in the game.
