North Central Regional Rankings - Women
March 1, 2006

INDIANAPOLIS – Northern State women’s basketball remained at the #5 spot in the seventh North Central Regional Ranking of 2006. The Wolves regional record so far this season is 17-5 with four of the five losses having come to teams that have been ranked in the top ten regionally at some point during the season. Northern State finished the regular season with a 22-5 overall mark and an 11-3 NSIC record.

The only change in this week's poll is Fort Hays State jumping into the #10 spot replacing Minnesota-Duluth.

Overall, the RMAC boasts four squads in the poll, while the NSIC and NCC come in with three teams apiece.

Northern State will host Winona State in the first round of the 2006 NSIC/Red Baron Basketball Classic on Wednesday, March 1st at 6:00 p.m. in the Barnett Center. The Wolves come in as the second seed with an 11-3 NSIC record while the Warriors are the seventh seed with a 3-9 NSIC mark.

INDIANAPOLIS – Northern State women’s basketball dropped a spot to #5 in the sixth North Central Regional Ranking of 2006. The Wolves regional record so far this season is 15-5 with three of the five losses having come to teams ranked in the top ten regionally (#1 North Dakota, #3 Wayne State and #10 Minnesota-Duluth).

The top three spots remained the same in the region with North Dakota and St. Cloud holding on to the #1 and #2 spots. Wayne Stat was #3 while Northern State dropped to #5 and #5 Minnesota Duluth plummeted to #10. Regis (Colo.) jumped from #7 to #4 while Concordia St. Paul stayed firm at #6. The rest of the team all moved up one spot.

Overall, the NCC boasts four squads in the poll, while the NSIC and RMAC come in with three teams apiece.

Northern State will host SW Minnesota State and Wayne State this weekend to round out the regular season. The Wolves will also host a first round game in the 2006 NSIC/Red Baron Basketball Classic on Wednesday, March 1st at 6:00 p.m. in the Barnett Center.

INDIANAPOLIS – Northern State women’s basketball remained at #4 in the fifth North Central Regional Ranking of 2006. The Wolves regional record so far this season is 14-4 with three of the four losses having come to teams ranked in the top ten regionally (#1 North Dakota, #3 Wayne State and #5 Minnesota-Duluth). The top seven spots remained the same in the region with North Dakota and St. Cloud holding on to the #1 and #2 spots. Augustana College moved up a spot to #8 as Metro State dropped a spot to #9. Making their first appearance in this year's poll is Nebraska-Kearney who comes in at #10 this week. UNK replaces MSU Moorhead who dropped out of the poll after being swept at home this past weekend.

Overall, the NCC boasts four squads in the poll, while the NSIC and RMAC come in with three teams apiece.

Northern State travels to Bemidji State on Friday, Feb. 17th for a 6:00 p.m. game. They then travel to Minnesota, Crookston on Saturday, Feb. 18th for a 6:00 p.m. game at Lysaker Gym.

INDIANAPOLIS – Northern State women’s basketball moved up a spot to #4 in the fourth North Central Regional Ranking of 2006. The Wolves regional record so far this season is 11-4 with all four losses having come to teams ranked in the top ten regionally (#1 North Dakota, #3 Wayne State, #5 Minnesota-Duluth and #10 MSU Moorhead). The Wolves moved up a spot despite an overtime loss to MSU Moorhead this past weekend. Minnesota-Duluth dropped from #3 to #5 after losing their last four games in the NCC allowing Wayne State (NE) to move up a spot to #3. North Dakota and St. Cloud continue to hold on to the #1 and #2 spots in the poll.

The Wolves lost to MSU Moorhead this past Saturday, a team that remains at #10 in this week's poll. #6 Concordia St. Paul, #7 Regis, #8 Metro State, #9 Augustana all remain at last week's spot.

Overall, the NSIC and the NCC both boast four squads in the poll, while the RMAC comes in with two teams.

The Wolves take on #6 Concordia St. Paul on Friday, Feb. 10th at 6:00 p.m. They then host Winona State on Saturday, Feb 11th at 6:00 p.m. Both games will be played at Barnett Center in Aberdeen, S.D.

The three losses have come to three of the top four teams in the region (#1 North Dakota, #3 Minnesota-Duluth and #4 Wayne State). The Wolves defeated MSU Moorhead this past weekend, a team that makes its first appearance in the poll this week at #10. Regis and Metro State filled spots at #7 and #8, but everything else remained the same. The University of South Dakota was the only team to drop from the top eight. The Wolves take on MSU Moorhead on Saturday, Feb. 4th at 6:00 p.m. in Moorhead, Minn.

INDIANAPOLIS – Northern State women’s basketball was ranked fifth in the second North Central Regional Ranking of 2006. The Wolves regional record so far this season is 9-3. The three losses have come to three of the top four teams in the region (#1 North Dakota, #3 Minnesota-Duluth and #4 Wayne State). The Wolves defeated Concordia St. Paul this past weekend to switch spots with the Golden Bears. No other changes were made from week one to week two. The Wolves take on MSU Moorhead on Saturday, Jan. 28th at 6:00 p.m. at Barnett Center.
