BRIAN CARRELS COMMITS TO WRESTLE AT NSU

ABERDEEN, S.D.: Northern State wrestling coach Patrick Timm has announced that Brian Carrels of Wabasha, Minn. has committed to wrestle with Northern State beginning in the 2003-04 season.

Carrels was an all-conference wrestler at Wabasha-Kellogg High School and participated in the state wrestling meet in 2002 and 2003. He won the Outstanding Wrestler Award at the Kasson Invitational and helped his team to the 2002 section championship. Carrels compiled a 90-35 record during his high school wrestling career.

In addition to his excellence on the mat, Brian was also on the football and golf teams at W-KHS. He was also Homecoming King and Snow Week Royalty as a senior.

“Brian will be a great fit for the future of our program” commented NSU Head Wrestling Coach Patrick Timm. “He comes from a place that has a great tradition of wrestling and will help us to continue our tradition here. I look forward to coaching Brian during his collegiate career."
