BLANCHARD RANKED FIFTH IN PRESEASON COACHES POLL

ABERDEEN, SD - Northern State senior Baron Blanchard (HWT, Kindred, N.D.) was listed as the fifth ranked wrestler in the heavyweight division according to the initial rankings released by the NCAA II Wrestling Coaches Association.

Blanchard, who placed seventh in the NCAA national wrestling meet as a junior completed the 2002-03 season with a 26-9 overall record and became Northern State’s first all-American since Dale Daugherty in 1999.

Northern State will begin its 2003-04 season when they host the Maroon & Gold Alumni Match on Nov. 1 at 4 p.m. in the Barnett Center.
