Forfeits Hurt Wolves at Buena Vista Duals

Storm Lake, IA - The Wolves found themselves to be the victim of themselves this past weekend at the Buena Vista Duals. Because of injury NSU found themselves having to forfeit between 10-12 points during each match.

The Wolves recieved continued strong performances from the Blanchard-Sinclair duo. The two wrestled strong against SMSU on Thursday evening, and then went 3-0 during on Saturday. Sinclair pinned two of his three victims on the day while Blanchard pinned one of his oppenonents.

In the first dual of the day the Wolves beat Briar Cliff by a 28-27 score. The Wolves recieved pins from Brian Englund, Spencer Dockery, Andy Sinclair, Cory Wellnitz and Baron Blanchard.

Northern would then drop the next two duals falling to Simpson (31-15) and then to Buena Vista (24-21). In both defeats, the Wolves needed to forfeit three weight classes. The classes were 149, 165, and 184.

The Wolves will be back in action February 4 against University of Minnesota-Morris. Start time will be at 7:00 pm.
