Wolves Wrestle Tough;
Unable to Overcome Open Weight Classes

WARRENSBURG, MO - Northern State University once again were their own worst enemies having open weight classes be the deciding difference in multiple matches at the Central Missouri State University Dual Jamboree on Saturday.

In the first dual, the Wolves were downed by University of Indianapolis by a score of 29-13. In the U of I dual Northern recieved wins from Andy Sinclair, Shawn Lewis, and Baron Blanchard.

Next, the Wolves were defeated by host CMSU by a score of 30-20. The Wolves picked up wins from Chas Welch, Andy Sinclair, Cory Wellnitz, and Baron Blanchard.

In the third dual of the day NSU was edged b y Southern Illinois-Edwardsville by a 25-24 margin. NSU welcomed wins from Chas Welch, Brian Englund, Spencer Dockery, Andy Sinclair, and Baron Blanchard.

In the final dual the day, the Wolves were defeated 46-0 by Fort Hayes. The Wolves had to give up four different forfeits in the match up.

Andy Sinclair - Freshman

On individual levels the Wolves once again were witness to strong performances by Freshman Andy Sinclair and Senior Baron Blanchard. Both wrestlers went 3-0 on the day. Sinclair pinned his first opponent and then went on to defeat his last two opponents by major decisions.

Baron Blanchard - Senior

Blanchard, who is considered one of the top wrestlers in the nation, went 3-1 on the day. The Senior picked up one pin and two decisions on th day. Blanchard's only loss came in a 2-1 decision against Fort Hayes' heavyweight wrestler.

The Wolves will be back in action on February 19 when they travel to Mankato, MN for a dual with Minnesota State Mankato. The event begins at 7:00 pm.
