Meet Zach
Flakus, Zach Flakus starts his fifth year working for Northern State University. He graduated from NSU in 1993 with degrees in Management and Marketing and spent eight years in the business world. Flakus was hired in the fall of 2000 by the NSU Foundation as Associate Director of Alumni Services and later moved into the position of Director of Athletic Development. In 2002 he added the title of Assistant Athletic Director and works directly with the Athletic Department as well as the NSU Foundation and NSU Wolves Club. Flakus, a South Dakota native (Colome, SD), has a lot of history with Northern. He suited up for the Wolves Football team from 1989-93. He played tight end and outside linebacker and was part of two conference championship teams. His wife Amy ‘BS 92’ is also a Northern graduate and daughter of longtime football coach, athletic director and NSU icon Jim Kretchman. The Flakus’s have three children: Mattison, Lincoln and Jake.
