Project Snapshot: The Learning Tree and Central High School's Sophomore Literature and Composition class have facilitated similar project in the past.  The high school students visit the children twice.  First they come to the daycare center, spend time with and read to the children, then they go back to their class and write stories of their own.  The second time they come back, they read to the children again. The literature students then donated their books to The Learning Tree.

Type of Service: Indirect Service (creating books) & Direct Service (reading)

Needs Met/Impact Made:

Heupel said her daycare children adore the time they are able to spend with the high school students.  The one-on-one time is the most tremendous impact.  Heupel commended the high school students on their excellent behavior and looks forward to many more projects.
