Dan Ostrander, City Forester, Parks & Recreation

Project Snapshot:

Type of Service: Indirect Service

Needs Met/Impact Made:

Ostrander said the students' impact on the community was great because it lets them know that they want to do nature-oriented projects, and that they are concerned with birds and nature.  Ostrander indicated that he felt good about his interaction with the students, but hoped that in his next experience, he would be invited to interact with the students in the initial planning of the birdhouse project, in order to avoid saturating one particular bird population.  He is definitely interested in pursuing more environmentally-oriented projects with students.
