Briscoe Hall, located on the northwest corner of campus, is named for longtime NSU professor of education, Margaret Briscoe.  It was initially a residence hall for women, but presently it is co-ed with accommodations for 86 residents.  Briscoe has the largest rooms on campus and is next door to the business department in Lincoln Hall.

Briscoe has two lobby areas with cable TV.  The main lobby, on 2nd floor, also has the vending machines, and the hall office.  The first floor lobby includes a full kitchen with a microwave oven. Free laundry facilities can be found on first floor as well.  The computer lab, with four PC's hooked to the campus network, is on 3rd floor.  All of these areas are open 24 hours for resident use.

There are on-line computer hookups in all student rooms.  All rooms have fee-for-service cable TV access and a telephone jack (extra fees apply).  There is a large closet, a chest of drawers, desk space for each roommate, a bunk bed, and two chairs.

Briscoe Hall Council consists of four officers, a representative to the campus food service, and one representative from each floor.  All Briscoe residents are invited to attend the Council meetings.  The Council has purchased the following for resident use: DVD players, board games and other recreational equipment.  The Council has also been involved in organizing various campus activities and is active in volunteering within the Aberdeen community.

Many educational and informal events are held in Briscoe.  Some examples of the informal events are decorating parties, pizza nights, Friends night, ultimate Frisbee etc.  Other events deal with issues facing university students, such as choosing a career, study and writing skills, alcohol and other drugs, etc.
