Celebrate the Roles of Women in Opera at NSU

(Aberdeen, S.D.) The Music Department at Northern State University is pleased to present "Opera Chicks" on Sun, Apr.18, at 3 p.m. on the main stage of the Johnson Fine Arts Center. Come and listen to music by Mozart, Gilbert and Sullivan, Bernstein, and Rogers and Hammerstein.
The students participating include sopranos Larissa Buchholz, Tripp, Yvonne Freese, Lanesboro, Minn., Ashli Griffith, Ortonville, Minn., Lea Kooiman, Flandreau, Michelle Monroe, Pierre, Kristina Olfert, Madison, and mezzo sopranos Jody Roseland, Forest River, N.D., and Hayley Winkler, Wimbledon, N.D. They will be performing some of your favorite scenes from “Cosi Fan Tutte,” “Le Nozze di Figaro,” “The Mikado,” “Flower Drum Song,” and “West Side Story.”
The pianists assisting with the productions are Bailey Geist, Roscoe, Katie Klipfel, Forbes, N.D. Colin Neuharth, Eureka, Brandon Sterling, Rapid City, and Justin Wegenke, Huron.

General Admission for “Opera Chicks” is $5 for adults and free to students.
