A BS degree in Chemistry prepares students for graduate studies or employment in a wide range of industrial and medical areas. Students benefit from small classes and personal attention from the well-qualified faculty. They learn
to operate a wide range of modern instruments, including a nuclear magnetic resonancespectrophotometer, ultraviolet-visible and infrared
spectrophotometers, and gas-liquid and highpressure liquid chromatographs.
Students are encouraged to explore theiri ndividual interests and to work closely with professors on research projects. works in scientific journals.

The BS in Education program prepares students to become high school chemistry teachers.

The minor in chemistry or physics provides a second field for secondary 
education majors.
