NSU Honors Program
Achieve your academic potential in the supportive environment of the Northern State University Honors Program.

 

The program affords students opportunities to take honors-only general education classes taught by outstanding faculty, live in an honors residence hall community, participate in honors social events, engage in undergraduate research, relax or study in the Honors Lounge, network on campus and in the Aberdeen community, experience study abroad, and gain access to internships.  

 
 

Apply

Students with a  27 or above ACT score are automatically admitted with a completed application. Students with a 24-26 ACT score who rank in the top 25% of their graduating class are encouraged to apply. Current NSU students who maintain a 3.5 GPA after 24 credits are invited to apply. All students who are interested in the NSU Honors Program should complete the application below. Use the “submit by email” button at the bottom of the second page, or save the application and attach it in an email to Honors Program Director Dr. Erin Fouberg.

Are Honors classes more difficult?
The motto of the NSU Honors Program is “Enhance your Northern Experience.” Honors courses are designed to enhance what you learn through discussion and readings, not to be more difficult.
 
Completing the Honors Program
The NSU Honors Program works with every major at Northern State University. For help on how to complete the Honors Program with your major, contact Dr. Erin Fouberg or the faculty member who represents your program:
