FINANCIAL AID: How to Apply
1. Apply for Admission
2. Complete the FAFSA
- The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) may be filed beginning January 1 of each year.
- Applications submitted before March 1 are given first priority consideration for Federal Supplemental Grants, Federal Work-Study, and Federal Perkins Loans.
List the NSU school code of 003466 on your FAFSA.
- Submit your FAFSA. Print out and keep a copy of your submitted information for your records.
3. FAFSA Follow Up
- You will receive a Student Aid Report (SAR) that shows the results of the FAFSA. Check the SAR for accuracy and make any necessary corrections.
- Your Expected Family Contribution (EFC) is calculated from the information you provided on the FAFSA and is listed on your SAR. The EFC is the amount your family is expected to contribute to your education for the upcoming year.
- If your application is selected for a process called Verification, you will be notified by the Enrollment Service Center (ESC) to complete the Verification Form and submit required documentation.
- NSU begins mailing out Award Letters in April. Return your signed and fully completed Award Letter along with any other required documents to the Financial Aid Office.
