Freshman Registration 2012-Registration Dates consist of a half day of student and separate parent sessions, including some hands on computer time and advising.  Watch for more details in the near future.

April 19 & April 20 Open for Wolf Pact Recipients (reception Thursday evening)

April 21  Open for any accepted new freshman

June 8 & 25  Open for any accepted new freshman

Accepted freshmen call 605.626-2544 or 1.800.NSU.5330 or e-mail Stephanie.Hawkinson@northern.edu to reserve a spot on your preferred Registration date at least 3 days in advance of your preferred date. Space is limited, so reserve early.

If you are not able to attend one of the scheduled Freshman Registration days, individual appointments may be set up for May 7 or later.  To set up an individual registration appointment, please contact Carrie in the Admissions Office at 605-626-2544 or 800-678-5330.  Students doing individual appointments may benefit from watching these student sessions from the April 15, 2011 freshman registration day.

 

Frequently Asked Questions about registration


Placement tests may be needed before you register. NSU offers the following tests:

  • MIS Placement Testing for business majors who want to attempt placement into Advanced Computer Applications
  • COMPASS Testing students who wish to challenge placement into remedial courses in math, English, and reading
  • COMPASS Math Testing for High Math ACT scorers (25 +) who wish to take Trig or Calculus
  • Chemistry Placement for those who plan a science major
