Students may now apply to serve as orientation leaders for the August 2012 new student orientation program at Northern State University.
Application forms are available in the NSU Office of Student Activities in Student Center room 250, the Wellness Center in Dacotah Hall and the NSU bookstore.
Interested students are encouraged to attend one of two information meetings, which will be 6 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, Jan. 24 and 25, in the Student Center Centennial D conference room.
The application deadline is 5 p.m. Feb. 3. Completed forms should be returned to the Student Activities office. Group interviews will be Feb. 4, and individual interviews will be Feb. 6-10.
Orientation leaders are responsible for welcoming new students and their families to Northern, leading small group discussions and initiatives, and acquainting participants with the campus and campus services. Students who apply must meet the following requirements: full-time returning student for the 2012 academic year, good academic and judicial/disciplinary standing (minimum cumulative GPA 2.5), and ability to participate in all training and orientation-related activities.
