Family Education Rights and Privacy Act

All academic records of Northern State University students are kept in accordance with the provisions of The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).

According to FERPA, no one outside Northern State University has the right to access your personal academic records unless written permission is given by you. Information pertaining to personal academic records will be released only to the student unless written permission has been given to make this information available to parents or other third parties specified by the student.

To give written permission for parents or a third party to access to your academic records, print and fill out the Student Consent to Release Educational and Financial Records form and return it to the Registrar's Office (DH-101) at Northern State University.
