In the Barnett Center
are the 8,000-seat Wachs Arena, pool, indoor track, volleyball and handball/racquetball/squash courts, as well as a variety of classrooms, offices and athletic rooms. A 2012 expansion added basketball locker rooms and coaching offices, a wrestling room and a 10,000 square-foot Strength and Conditioning Center.
H.P. Gerber BuildingNorthern was founded as a teaching school, and that legacy continues in the H.P. Gerber Building – home for education, psychology and counseling majors. The Gerber Building also houses the NSU Reading Clinic.
Students, NSU staff and the public can be found in Graham Hall, location of offices, classrooms and meeting rooms.
Johnson Fine Arts Center
The Johnson Fine Arts Center
is the center for NSU's music and theater departments, and annually hosts more than 65 concerts, theater performances, and campus and community events. It includes a 1,000-seat theater, the Berggren Recital Hall, a lecture auditorium, band and choir rehearsal halls, theatrical scene shop, dressing and costume rooms, plus instrumental and drama faculty offices and classrooms.
Krikac Administration Building
Krikac is the primary administration building at NSU. The historic Krikac Auditorium hosts fine arts performances, classes and numerous other campus events.
Lincoln also houses the Isaac Lincoln Gallery
, the only venue of its kind in the region for the exhibition of nationally and internationally recognized contemporary artists; and a display studio with works from former NSU Artist in Residence Benjamin Victor
Spafford Hall houses Northern's fine arts studios, music offices and practice rooms, meeting rooms and administrative offices.
The Student Center houses NSU dining facilities, the NSU Wolf Shoppe (book, supply and clothing store), Einstein Bros. Bagels, the Admissions Office, NSU Post Office, the Health and Counseling centers, Veterans' Lounge and much more. The Student Center also provides settings for live concerts, dances and banquets. The center is accessible to people with disabilities.
The Tech Center,
located in the center of campus as a northern addition to the Mewaldt-Jensen Building, is home to technology support for Northern and features three computer labs, two smart classrooms, a fully equipped TV studio and a media center, smart classrooms, a conference room with multimedia presentation capabilities, offices for NET Services staff and Arts and Sciences faculty, and the NSU Help Center, which provides free technical assistance to faculty, staff and students.
holds over 250,000 items, subscribes to nearly 80 electronic databases, and provides on- and off-campus services to students, staff, faculty and community residents. The library is home to a variety of individual and group study spaces, a computer lab, a smart classroom, and a DDN room. Williams Library also houses the Reading Clinic, the campus music collection and listening room, and NSU Archives and Special Collections.
