Krikac Administration Building

Built in 1907 at a cost of $30,000 during the presidency of George Nash, the Administration Building was dedicated during a South Dakota Board of Regent's meeting on campus June 27, 1991. The name honors William K. Krikac who was Vice President for Finance and Administration. A graduate of Northern State, Mr. Krikac joined NSU as the assistant business manager in August 1949. In 1970 he was named business manager and was the Vice President for Finance and Administration until his death on March 2, 1990. He was named "Administrator of the Year" in 1978. Today, the building is home to computer services, finance and business offices, purchasing and personnel. Visitors are encouraged to view the seven stained glass windows on the West side of the third floor Krikac Auditorium. The auditorium is handicapped accessible. The stained glass windows were presented by consecutive graduating classes of the Normal and Industrial School, beginning in 1907 and concluding in 1913. President William Taft spoke to the Northern and Aberdeen communities from this stage on October 23, 1911.
