"The NSU Honors Program means having resources, both academically and socially, to enhance my college experience and help me achieve my potential."
"NSU's Honors Program gave me a family here at Northern. It helped ease the transition to college by putting me with a group of people who can help and support me in trying to reach my goals."
Achieve your academic potential in the supportive environment of the Northern State University Honors Program.
The program affords students opportunities to take honors-only general education classes taught by outstanding faculty, live in an honors residence hall community, participate in honors social events, engage in undergraduate research, relax or study in the Honors Lounge, network on campus and in the Aberdeen community, experience study abroad, and gain access to internships.

Are Honors classes more difficult?
The motto of the NSU Honors Program is “Enhance your Northern Experience.” Honors courses are designed to enhance what you learn through discussion and readings, not to be more difficult.
