Fine Arts Invitational Scholarship Event

NSU's fine arts invitational takes place right here on NSU’s beautiful campus. Take this opportunity to discover and explore fine arts at NSU!

 

At the invitational, you can:

  • Audition for music, art and theater scholarships
  • Submit your art portfolio for review

To apply for scholarships, incoming freshman and transfer students must complete the NSU Fine Arts Scholarship Application.

Art Scholarships

Incoming freshmen and transfer students may submit a completed NSU Fine Arts Scholarship Application for a limited number of art scholarships. As part of your scholarship application, you're required to submit a portfolio of 10 images of your work. As a guide, see this Sample Portfolio.

 

Portfolio Instructions

1.    Create a PowerPoint document with 10 images of your work, labeled with title, material, dimensions, and year

2.    Save the PowerPoint as a PDF

3.    Create a Dropbox account

4.    Upload file and share with gratia.brown@northern.edu

 

Current NSU art students in good standing are eligible to apply for variety of scholarships administered annually by the art department. Scholarships for current students can be found on myNSU.

Music Scholarships

To apply for scholarships, incoming freshman and transfer students must complete the NSU Fine Arts Scholarship Application.

 

music Scholarship Auditions

Scholarships are awarded to music and non-music majors on the basis of auditions. If you are unable to attend auditions, please submit a recording.

 

Audition On Campus

On-campus auditions will be scheduled during the 2018 NSU Fine Arts Invitational.

 

Audition from Off Campus

You may submit an audition by CD,  DVD  or (recommended) unlisted YouTube video or audio file. Video recordings are preferred over audio-only. Email the unlisted YouTube link to terry.beckler@northern.edu, or send CD or DVD via U.S. Postal Service to:
