Admission Requirements

The following are the admission requirements for people wanting to transfer to NSU.

For students who have completed less than 24 college credits, the following requirements must be met:

  1. Achieve an 18 (or above) on the ACT test.
    OR
  2. Have a high school GPA of 2.6 (or above).
    OR
  3. Rank in the top 60% of the graduating class.
    AND
  4. In addition to meeting one of the above, a student should have a "C" average in the following course work: 
     
    • 4 years of English.
    • 3 years of advanced math.
    • 3 years of social science.
    • 3 years of lab science.
    • 1 year of fine arts.


    AND

  5. You must be leaving your current school in good standing.

For students who have completed 24 (or more) college credits, you must be leaving your current school in good standing and have a college cumulative GPA of 1.8 or higher.

Admissions Checklist

The following checklist should help in making sure that you have completed the necessary steps when transferring to NSU.

  • Take the ACT test (if you are under 21 and have not taken it before).
  • Send us your ACT or SAT scores. We accept both.
  • Fill out the NSU application.
  • Remember the $20.00 application fee.
  • Have your high school transcript sent to NSU/ESC.
  • Send your college transcripts to NSU/ESC.
  • Check into NSU's transfer scholarship.
  • Transfer your financial aid information to NSU (see Financial Aid).
  • Set up a campus visit.
  • Find your immunization records.
