ADMISSIONS:   Application Process for   


Admission Requirements

Have you been in the work force for a while? Are you ready to further your education? If you are planning to attend NSU, the following admissions requirements must be met.

Under 21 years old
For those people under 21 years old, the following requirements must be met:

  1. Achieve an 18 (or above) on the ACT test;
    OR
  2. Have a high school GPA of 2.6 (or above);
    OR
  3. Rank in the top 60% of the graduating class
    AND
  4. In addition to meeting one of the above, a student should have a "C" average in the following course work: 
     
    • 4 years of English.
    • 3 years of advanced math.
    • 3 years of social science.
    • 3 years of lab science.
    • 1 year of fine arts.

Over 21 years old
Students over the age of 21 will need to submit the following when applying for admission at NSU:

  • Official high school transcript, including graduation date, or GED score
  • Official college transcripts from any college attended prior to applying at NSU, if applicable

Admissions Checklist

The following checklist should help in making sure that you have completed the necessary steps when applying to NSU.

  • Take the ACT test (if you are under 21 and have not taken it before).
  • Send us your ACT or SAT scores. We accept both.
  • Fill out the NSU application.
  • Remember the $20.00 application fee.
  • Have your high school transcript sent to NSU/ESC.
  • Send any college transcripts you have to NSU/ESC.
  • Check into financial aid.
  • Set up a campus visit.
  • Find your immunization records (these are not needed if you were born before January 1, 1957).
