ADMISSIONS:  Visiting NSU Campus

No matter how much you may read or hear about a university, you'll probably find that the best way to experience the campus is to visit. Come spend some time at Northern - we promise you'll like what you see!

Visiting Opportunities
We welcome visitors at any time. We host Northern Bound Days several times each year if you would like to visit with your friends or family, but we also encourage a more personal visit for any time that suits your calendar. Check out our visit options and call us to set up an appointment at 1-800-NSU-5330 .

Northern Bound Days which are mainly held in the NSU Student Center. Bring all of your friends to tour our beautiful campus, visit with professors, meet NSU students and munch on a free lunch! Most visit days also include tickets to a sports or fine arts event.

Gold Club Visits - Need more than a few hours to decide if Northern is the place for you? Well then, stay overnight! In addition to the regular activities that take place during a tour, you get a chance to check out the nightlife in our residence halls. Make sure you contact us in advance, as space and hosts are limited.

Weekday Tours - Individual visits are ALWAYS welcome at NSU! Tours are available Monday through Friday at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. and include a personalized schedule fitted to your interests.

Personal Home Visits - If you are unable to visit campus, contact the Admissions Office to schedule time for an admissions counselor to come to your home for a personal visit. See the Contact Information page.

Directions to Campus
From Highway 281 South - Turn east onto Melgaard Road. Turn north onto Lincoln Street. Turn east onto 12th Avenue SE. The Admissions Office is in Dacotah Hall 101, located at 12th Avenue and Kline Street.

From Highway 281 North - Turn east onto 6th Avenue SE (or Highway 12). Turn south onto Main Street. Turn east onto 12th Avenue SE. The Admissions Office is in Dacotah Hall 101, located at 12th Avenue and Kline.

From Highway 12 East - Turn south onto State Street. Turn west onto 12th Avenue SE. The Admissions Office is in Dacotah Hall 101, located at 12th Avenue and Kline Street.

From Highway 12 West - Turn south onto Main Street. Turn east onto 12th Avenue SE. The Admissions Office is in Dacotah Hall 101, located at 12th Avenue and Kline Street.

Guest parking is available in the circular lot between the Johnson Fine Arts Center and Dacotah Hall along 12th Avenue.
