This is the Faculty from Shandong Modern Language School in Jinan, the capital of Shandong Province in the People's Republic of China.  On my left is the President of the Language School and on my right is the President of the University.  The other folks are senior faculty at the school.
I was invited to give a lecture at the Shandong Modern Language School.  The lecture topic, "Education in America," was well attended as you can see.  Many of these students are interested in studying in America.  I was very impressed by the student's desire to get a higher education degree in America.  Friendship between countries increases when education helps people to understand and appreciate  other customs and cultures.
This is a main street in downtown Jinan, Shandong Province.  Jinan is the capital of the province with a population over two million within the city.  The Jinan area has been a residential area for over 4000 years.  Today, as you can see, it is a modern city similar to many in Europe and the US.  The mass transit system is very good.  At left bottom is a subway entrance.
